On-Line Training for Families

Taking care of someone you love who has memory loss and cognitive impairment is very challenging !! Families of those with some form of dementia rarely receive professional training on how to better care for their loved one. Most family physicians don't speak with families about how to provide care for their loved one... typically, families are told their loved one has some form of dementia and a medication is prescribed for the symptoms that were reported by the family to the physician. Maybe they are referred to the local book store to get "The 36hour Day" to read in their "spare time".

IF you and your family members haven't participated in a training session or seminar that explains current dementia care techniques for you to use AND you are unable to find a place that provides that kind of specialized training for you as a family member THEN the solution is GOOD NEWS CONSULTING's "Responding to My Loved One With Dementia" Family On-line Training Series... right here on this website.

This series consists of on-line training sessions that will give you basic information about dementia and will answer many questions about behavior, communication, setting up meaningful things to do daily and helping in daily hygiene tasks. Each narrated PowerPoint training session is about one hour in length and includes videos and exercises to help you understand the techniques and strategies for better helping your loved one AND helping you manage the help that is needed.

For a nominal fee of $25 per session, you can print out a handout and view the narrated video that will help you better understand why your loved one acts the way he/she does and how to handle challenges in a more successful manner. These sessions also give you tips on how to cope with the stress that often accompanies family care givers taking care of people with dementia.
